About · Eric Gajewski

I’m Eric Gajewski — still in process, same as anyone.

Marketer by trade, writer by compulsion, and someone who’s been rebuilt by grace more than once. This is the honest version.

Where I started

The short version.

I didn’t always have a story I was proud to tell. For a long stretch, my life looked fine on the outside and was quietly coming apart underneath. Addiction took me further than I ever meant to go — I’ve slept without a home, I’ve sat in a jail cell, I’ve burned bridges I’d give anything to have back and pushed away people who were only trying to help. I know what it is to reach the end of yourself.

I also know what it is to be met there. Not by a sermon or a slogan, but by real people willing to sit with me in the mess, no conditions attached. That grace changed the direction of my life. Most of what I do now is an attempt to pass it on.

For most of my life I ran ahead of God — forcing doors, managing outcomes that were never mine to manage. It cost me. These days I keep my hands on the work in front of me and trust the rest to lead the way.

What I believe

Presence over being right.

I’m a born-again Christian — though I know that phrase lands differently depending on who’s reading it. I’m also a Christian Universalist: I believe love wins in the end, and that every person, whatever they currently believe, is worth listening to. I’m not out to scare anyone into faith or argue anyone into a position. I’m interested in presence — in showing up, and staying. Being right was never the same thing as being loving.

For a season I taught Bible study, leaned hard into Celebrate Recovery, and helped lead a jail ministry until I burned out doing it. I’m still learning the sustainable version of showing up — the kind you can keep doing for decades, not just until you’re empty. I don’t have it all figured out. I’m in process, same as anyone.

What I do

A deliberate answer to the noise.

By trade, I’ve spent more than two decades in digital marketing — which means I’ve spent most of my career watching algorithms sort people into camps and reward whoever shouts loudest, and watching that same machinery profit from our division. A lot of what I build now is a deliberate answer to that: slower, more honest, more human. That conviction runs through all of it:

  • EKG Marketing

My human-first marketing practice. Strategy before tools, substance over theater, and the person who understands your business is the one doing the work.

  • All Common Ground

My heart-work. A small, local circle for honest conversation across different beliefs, and a stubborn hope that people can still sit across a table from one another with humility, honesty, and love.

  • Heavenly Puppies

Something newer and a lot lighter, because not everything I build has to be heavy to matter.

Where I’m headed

Less commentary, more contribution.

I live and work in the High Country of North Carolina, because I think the real things start somewhere local, with people you can actually sit across a table from. I’ve stopped obsessing over what I can’t control and started pouring myself into what I can. I’d rather build than complain — less commentary, more contribution. We don’t just name what’s broken; we try to make something better in its place.

I don’t have this all figured out. But if you’ve ever felt like you didn’t quite belong — in a church, a political camp, an industry, or the conversation happening around you — I hope something here helps you exhale.
